It was last April when my twin sons and me decided to take a vacation to Chaing Rai during their University semester break. Since it was the 'Men Only' tour, the theme for our tour would be 'Adventure and Photography Tour.' We flew from Narathiwat to Bangkok, then took a van to Chiang Rai. Eventhough it was a long journey, we enjoyed them as we stop by the many petrol kiost along the high way for food. We loved hot and spicy food. From all my other previous tours to overseas, I enjoy Thai food the most.
We slept two nights at a 'home stay' on one of a hill top, and the rest at the town hotel called Suknirand Hotel. During our two days at the 'home stay' our host took to us to afew places in Chiang Rai. To name afew, they took us to Doi Tung, Mae Sai, Doi Mae Sa Lorn, Wat Rong Khun and around the city. I appreciate their kind hospitality so much. When we shifted to the town hotel, we visited the Wet Market and Night Bazaar every night for local food, cultural show and shopping. We also rented a bicycle each to visit the city and other tourist attraction around the city such as the Jade Temple, Wat Singha and for the river cruise with the long boat.
To add more adventure to our trip, we rented scooters to travel further outside the city. We rode to Doi Mae Salorn for an over night. We visted the Chinese community there and afew other hill tribes villages. Our most memorable visit is the Long Neck Village. It was our first time to see the Long Neck tribes in person. We also rode to The Golden Traingle, Chiang Sean and Chiang Kong. The journey was wonderful and the scenery was amazingly beautiful as we travel from one mountain to another. I enjoy watching the sunrise, sunset and the colorful landscape of Chiang Rai mountains, all not just recorded within my memory but also captured with my camera lens waiting to be shared with my friends back home.
