Alongside its rival Miss Universe and Miss Earth contests, this pageant is one of the most publicised beauty contests in the world.[2][3] The telecast of the final competition is the world's largest live annual beauty pageant television event with global viewers.[4][5]
The winner spends a year travelling to represent the Miss World Organization and its various causes.[6] Traditionally, Miss World lives in London during her reign. The current Miss World is Ksenia Sukhinova of Russia.
Miss Thailand World is a national pageant, which the winners go to compete in Miss World Beauty Pageant, and the Runner-up who has beautiful Chinese complextion will be selected to participate in Miss Chinese International. Miss Thailand World is not related the previous Miss Thailand or Miss Thailand Universe.
The reigning Miss Thailand World is Kanokkorn Jaicheun, who was crowned on August 4, 2007, in Bangkok by Melissa Mahapol, Miss Thailand World 2006.
This year, the 25th Miss Thailand World pageant will be held on October 17, 2009. Channel 3 is the broadcastor. The finals was held at in Bangkok. 25 delegates are expected to compete. The winner will be the representative for Miss Thailand at the Miss World 2009 pageant.
